Is the new CD available with this product simply the audio track for the video? I had difficulty with the video because of background noise and audio quality so was curious if CD can help with more clear dialogs/interviews/etc.
Also - Note above comment on video is not a complaint I realize at this level textbook one has to start trying to extend tingli into less than ideal studio voice situation.
The China Scene audio CD contains studio recordings of each lesson's vocabulary, dialogues, and media transcripts. So to answer your question, the CD is not simply the audio track for the video; rather, it's a studio recording of the video transcript, and I believe you'll find this recording to be clearer and more pronounced than the authentic media clips. The advantage of the media clips, of course, is that with them you can practice listening to a variety of people speaking in natural situations.
I hope this answers your question!
