Do you think it's better to learn simplified characters first, or traditional characters first? Is it easier to learn simplified characters if you already know traditional characters? Or the other way around?

I don't think either choice is better or easier. I'm personally learning simplified first, just because they seem to be so much more common. It's not too hard too learn the other form of a character (for reading purposes) once you have one of them down pat.
